I was offered the chance to review some products from My Real Earth. Their tagline is: Natural Body Products, Infused with Essential Oils, Blessed with Love, Just For You. They offer soaps and lotions with a few options of essential oils to add to the product. There are also fragrance free options for those who are scent sensitive.
*I was sent these products from My Real Earth for free so I could use them and create this review. All opinions are my own or those of my family.*
I had a hard time choosing which items I wanted to review. My Real Earth has soaps, scrubs, lotions and body butters – they also offer “Real Deals!” which are a few items you’d use together at a slightly reduced cost. I ended up choosing Lavender Castile Soap and Lavender Hands Heels and Elbows Ointment.
Lavender Castile Soap
To be honest I didn’t know what castile soap was before I ordered this from My Real Earth. I had to read up on it at Wikipedia. Castile soaps were originally made from olive oil, but are now any vegetable based soap. I don’t know if that means the soap is better than stuff made with tallow or not. It’s just different.
At any rate this Lavender Castile Soap feels very nice on the hands. I don’t find it too drying – I have it in the kitchen for those times I don’t want to wash my hands with dish soap. And, of course, the lavender smell is always lovely.
Lavender Hands Heels and Elbows Ointment
I mainly chose this item for my husband. He has work-roughened hands and he uses Body Shop Body Butters in the evenings on his hands. He likes the body butters, but he feels the moisturizing effects don’t last as long as he’d like. Since this item is marketed as an ointment I thought perhaps it would give him a longer-lasting effect.
The report from my hubby is that it’s greasier than the body butters, but it also does have longer lasting moisture. I’ve also used it and I feel the same. The greasiness is a little too much for me, unless I’m literally about to fall asleep. It makes me afraid to touch things after I’ve put it on. The next morning feeling of my hands (or feet or wherever I used it) is well worth it though. My skin is very happy after soaking this ointment in over night.
I would recommend trying any of the items My Real Earth provides. I had an easy time ordering my product, and the box arrived quickly and undamaged. The only thing I didn’t really care for was the packing peanuts. In my municipality they don’t recycle coloured styrofoam so I had to throw out most of the peanuts. I felt quite wasteful. Some crumpled up paper would have been just as good for packing material, in my opinion. Other than that I had a great experience ordering from My Real Earth.
