I take a lot of photos. In fact, I even call myself a photographer. It’s mainly a hobby, but I have sold a few of my images (which is still amazing to say!) When my sister told me she would like a photo of my daughters for her wall I thought an image on a canvas would make a great gift.

My girls aren’t the easiest subjects to capture. One is usually happy to be in photos, and the other gets in a total grump. And it’s not the same way each time – sometimes my oldest puts her best bad mood on, and other times it’s my youngest. And then there’s the hoods. My eldest loves to have her hood up, so I have a lot of nice photos of them (or all of us) and she has her damn hood on. I am nowhere near skilled enough to Photoshop her hood out of the photos.
Anyway, I scoured my photos for something wall-appropriate and found a few contenders. The one I chose is a great photo of my girls, but there’s the ever-present hooded Emma. (I ended up having to have a proper talk with Emma about taking off her hood for pictures. It must have worked a bit because she did get rid of her hood for our Christmas photos this year.)

Placing my order was easy
The BestCanvas.ca website is easy to manage. The hard part is deciding what size of canvas you’d like! I picked a 24″ x 16″ landscape canvas and ended up with a beautiful product. You can also create household items (pillows, throws, mugs) and other wall options besides canvas.
There is full email support – they send an email for each step (order placed, created, shipped) and provide a tracking number. I placed my order on a Thursday and it shipped the next day. It was at my house (via UPS) the following Wednesday. That’s barely a week from order placed to at my house.
What I thought of the product
My order, which was the canvas, plus a hanger set and shipping was just over $50 CAN. (I did not pay for my order – BestCanvas.ca gifted it to me with a discount code.) I think that is a reasonable price for a beautiful piece of art.

The print came out beautifully. It’s crisp and clean, and with my high pixel count and large file size it looks incredible on the canvas. I almost kept the print for myself!
I took a few photo of the canvas. For shipping it was cello-wrapped and I did not remove that as I was giving it as a gift. So all these photos have that thin plastic layer over the print.
I was in such a rush to see what the canvas looked like I forgot to snap a photo of the perfect packaging job. The tape peeled off wonderfully, and really only sticks hard to itself and the cardboard. It peeled off the canvas and the wooden frame like a dream
I reassembled it as best I could, so you could see how it was packaged. (Sorry it doesn’t look great!)
